DePuy Orthopaedics, a division of Johnson & Johnson, is currently facing around 4,700 unsettled lawsuits before the U.S. District Court headed by U.S. District Judge David A. Katz of the Northern District of Ohio. DePuy officials are requested to appear during the trial to provide testimonies related to the ASR metal hip replacement systems, according to an article in a medical website.

The same officials may be also requested to give testimonies in the DePuy Pinnacle trials in 2014. Orthopaedic doctors predicted that all Pinnacle hip replacement systems may potentially fail over the next two or three years.
